To create a check click the plus (+) symbol on the page, you’ll be presented with the check creation form. After creating a check, make sure your team is notified of downtime and performance issues by creating an alert.
Enter a descriptive Name such as “Facebook Site”, or “Facebook API” used for reporting. Select the HTTP method, protocol (https or http), and the domain such as “facebook.com” or “api.facebook.com”.
The target response time slider represents your target response time latency, this is used only for reporting purposes to indicate how far off you are from hitting the target. You can read more about this in the Understanding Apdex section.
Click the “Header” tab to view a list of header fields for the request. Once you start filling them out the form will automatically grow to provide more fields. Clicking the “x” to the right of any field will remove it.
The request may have an associated body, click the “Body” tab and enter the content in the field as shown below.
Checks are performed from all regions by default, however if you wish to disable regions which are not relevant to your service simply toggle them off.
To edit a check hover the “triple dot” menu icon on the right, and click “Edit”:
Requests which take longer than 10 seconds time out, and are treated as errors which contribute to downtime.
